Woodland Weave

A quilty friend offered to swap stash fabric with me and I ended up with a jelly roll of Moda Harvest Road by Lella Bouique. A standard jelly roll is 2 and 3/4 yards of fabrics cut into 2 and 1/2 by 44 inch strips. Generally the roll will have 2 strips of each print in a fabric line.

The challenge of using a jelly roll is finding a pattern that will take a 2 and 1/2 inch piece of fabric with a minimal amount of waste. I found a quilt block that took (2) 2 and 1/2 inch squares and (1) 2 and 1/2 inch by 4 and 1/2 inch rectangle. With a neutral fabric cut in 2 and 1/2 inch squares I set out to make 224 identical quilt blocks that make up this quilt.

This quilt measures 56 inches by 64 inches. -Circa 2015
