Oahu

While in vacation I found many of the tourist locations, flea markets, and retail stores selling fabric remnants of the ‘traditional’ Hawaiian shirt material. Most commonly the remnants were curated and bundled 5 inch charm packs at of cost of $3 or $5.

With each new venue I found new motifs and colors, the selection was endless, so I kept buying charm pack with the plan to make a huge picnic quilt when I arrived home. I designed this quilt using the Square in a Square block to allow for a fussy cut center block.

This quilt measures 64 inches by 64 inches.
