Winter Stars

The inspiration for this quilt began with the purchase of ADORNit Petal Bloom (682) fabric in a azure shade so remanence of the expanse of the winter night sky as Tiny White Dot (693) twinkling stars take a center stage in all the vastness.

The timelessness of the checkerboard and Ohio Star quilt blocks were reimagined with a simplification of the first design and manipulation of scale of the second.

The custom machine Ombre quilting was completed by Messy Quilts with a constellation motif minimally stitched at the top of the quilt and gradually moving to maximum stitching at the bottom.

This quilt measures 70 inches by 72 inches.
