Disappearing Pinwheels

I though that using a 10 inch layer cake and a Disappearing Pinwheel block would yield a solid quilt design, instead learned that my perception of a great quilt does not come with shortcuts. I did not like the way the blocks looked when pieced and I felt the curated fabric did not offer enough contrast to the light background.

This quilt measures 44 inches by 58 inches. -Circa 2016
