Twiddle

As my last grandchild approached his first birthday, his mother told me he was interested in laying on the floor and playing with carpet pile, towels, fabric scraps, etc. and I realized I had about half a second to make him a tactile blanket before he outgrew this baby stage. An impromptu project, I began with newspaper and sweeping curves. Textures of fur, leather, burlap, and linen were used along with buckles, a zipper, and buttons.

This quilt measures 46 inches by 68 inches. -Circa 2023
