I generally do not take on commission projects primarily because I am not interested in making your vision of the perfect quilt, and deadline stress me out. That is not to say I haven’t made a quilt a time or two and gifted it to someone I love. When the Stewart’s asked me to make a quilt for their grandson’s wedding I wholeheartedly welcomed the chance to make a full size quilt that would be utilitarian rather than decorative.

The red fabric for this fabric was found stowed away in Nancy Stewart’s home in Lehi, Utah and provided the inspiration of ‘something OLD’ for this wedding quilt which also contains ‘something NEW, something BORROWED, and something BLUE.’ Produced by Peter Pan Fabrics, Inc. it may have been a part of the mauve, pink and blue-gray color trend used in home decor in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

This quilt 80 inches by 96 inches. measures -Circa 2023
