Waldo

I wanted to machine quilting on my domestic machine and made this small baby quilt to practice those skills.

Using this oversize chevron-ish design , I finished piecing the top and pressing, I placed it right side down on a piece of cardboard and sprayed it with adhesive. I gently laid the batting on top, sprayed it, then placed the backing on.

I flipped the quilt over, went to my machine and started machine quilting through the navy stripe at the center. I then moved downward into the orange, the brown, the cream and the navy.

Celebrating my success I flipped the quilt around and starting sewing the top orange stripe when I realized I had put the final section of the quilt on upside down, creating a WALDO.

This quilt hangs in my studio as a reminder to me to take time to ‘see’ the quilt before sending it to the quilter.

This quilt measures 32 inches by 42 inches.
