Twenty Twenty (2)

This mystery quilt made as a Block of the Month at American Quilting consisted of 20 (12 1/2”) blocks and 20 (6 1/2”) blocks—thus themed 2020 (Twenty Twenty. The sample quilt consisted of the entire 40 blocks set block to block for a quilt measuring 100 inches by 100 inches.

I did not like the overall design of the sample quilt so I designed two smaller quilts with sashing and borders to add negative space and visually tie the project together. In this version I designed five rows separated with white sashing and navy cornerstones with a large navy border. Each row contains the original 12 1/2” blocks but an over abundance of 6 1/2” blocks necessitated the creation of a unique block on each row and a fourth row entirely made up of 6 1/2” blocks.

The other Twenty Twenty quilt can be viewed in the Manor Gallery section.

This quilt measures 58 inches by 70 inches.
