America - 2016

The sample quilt for this design was pieced with vertical columns, separated by sashing, which unfortunately was not how I envisioned the finished project. I opted for a more traditional horizontal layout with a medallion center.

This design was much like a sampler quilt in that each block was only used once and an endless array of fabrics were selected. AMERICA and some of the smaller blocks were made by foundation paper piecing.

Designed by Amy McCellan of Under the Garden Moon.

This quilt measures 48 inches by 56 inches.
