Pumpkin Patch Pillow

I designed this block to replace a less than flattering block being offered on a guild quilt I was sewing (see photo). The first block was constructed in pixelation, including half square triangles, which was necessary for the pumpkin but not necessary for the crow or background.

In the second version, I pixelated the pumpkin, then used a Stitch and Flip technique to add the crow and background. This construction choice greatly streamlined the time needed to complete the pillow cover and put less seams in the background.

This pillow cover measures 19 inches by 19 inches
